Worksheet Management

Overview

The new Worksheet Management system introduces domain-based and multi-bucket storage organization for SQL workspaces, replacing the previous single-bucket model.

This enhancement aligns IOMETE’s SQL Editor with Data Mesh principles — enabling true domain isolation, autonomy, and security while maintaining a unified, collaborative user experience.

Users can now manage and explore SQL worksheets, temporary files, and work artifacts across multiple storage backends and instances (e.g., S3, Dell ECS, MinIO, or other compatible instances) — seamlessly integrated into the Workspace UI.

Planned Features

• Multi-Bucket Attachment per Domain: Each domain can connect multiple S3-compatible storage instances and regions.
• Domain Isolation of Worksheets: SQL files, temporary work files are scoped within their respective domains, ensuring cleaner organization and data governance.
• Bucket-Level Access Management: Fine-grained control over access and visibility for each attached storage using new domain-level security policies and Resource Bundles.
• Collaborative Editing: Shared worksheet access with versioning and change tracking across team members.
• Auto-Backup & Recovery: Scheduled snapshots or auto-save versions of worksheets to ensure durability.
• Search & Discovery: Search worksheets across buckets by name, tags, or metadata.
